Dear familia,
This week has been great. Not a ton has happened. I feel we had a ton
of lessons which we did but all is stayed the same.
Transfers are today and we are staying together which is not a shock
because we are still new here.
We did have this relief society activity that we invited a ton of
people to and only one investigators came and we were so happy! She is
so awesome. She is so solid with the lessons and coming into the
church. We pray and pray and pray she will continue to progress. At
the garden party for RS the ward fellowshipped her a ton! Which was so
amazing because it makes the biggest difference when people reach out
and friend those we bring.
Sister Weinheimer and I are loving being companions. We are so crazy
but yet are on fire with the work and we just have so many adventures
each day. At the RS event she had sugar, and she is hyperglycemic and
can't have sugar or she gets SUPER HYPER then crashes SUPER HARD. So
guess how that went. She at the end was so crazy. Thank goodness we
were ending out night so we weren't too much in public but she was
hyper and then as we planned that night she was out. Pretty much dead
looking, haha. I as her companion got the biggest laugh at it but then
deep inside I am screaming like my companion is going to die because
she had sugar! Crazy stuff happens when we are around.
I got a haircut today too. Nothing to major but boy my hair is
annoying when it doesn't get cut after 6 months. So I finally got a
trim and got bangs so it looks better.
We also get to have a visa waiting stay with us for a day because she
got her visa and is going to Brazil. We feel bad because we are so
crazy and she has to put up with us for a day. Hopefully she enjoys
her stay.
Hey what's happening in AZ! Everyone here is telling me it's flooding.
Do you mind explaining what on earth this world has come to?! Is our
house still on land? They said cars were even floating on the roads!
GLOBAL WARMING IS HAPPENING! Anyways keep me posted if your still
alive!
Anyways oh there is something major that did happen...
So we had a general authority come Tuesday to speak to us! Elder
Nielsen! It was so amazing!
We had his wife speak to all the sisters before the meeting with all
missionaries started and that was way cool!
She talked about the amazing force of sisters and how it's making a
huge difference in the missionary world. She shared some stories that
blew my mind. Marriage also was a topic that s of course talked about.
She said some amazing things that got me thinking. She shared the
importance of finding a worthy companion. And to truly see the couples
that set an example of a good marriage. I loved all she said and
helped me understand a lot.
Then when Elder Nielsen spoke and president Russell they said such
profound things about the work. There are over 86,000 of us
missionaries serving all around the world and it truly is such a
comfort knowing we are not alone, In the world serving The Lord.
The meeting with a man called of god is such a great experience and
the spirit is so strong as they spoke to us. I am so grateful for that
experience and my testimony is like a boulder now of the gospel and of
this marvelous work we get to do.
I thank you all for your support and for all you do to help me keep
going. It is hard but so worth it and I thank you tons for everything!

This week has been fun. Many adventures!

This guy from Pakistan added me on Facebook, random I know, but he is a member and added other missionaries. So I figured it would be okay and good to have him like and comment on our posts. Well he messaged me and Sister W and said he wanted us to teach him. First he is hard to understand because he used an online translator and those never work. But we were trying to find out why he wanted us to teach him because we thought he was a member of the LDS church. Well he is but he still wanted to learn more and there it’s hard to learn about the church. Side note... we have been praying for people the elders could teach because we wanted to help them and serve them also they gave us referrals and we wanted to in return give them people to teach as well. We and the elders are dominating our area and the best missionary team! 

Anyways so we knew it would not be allowed for us to teach him so answer to our prayers we referred him to the elders and now they get to teach him.

RANDOMNESS I KNOW! 

Than Friday I got majorly sick from food poisoning... let’s just say that was not a fun day for Sister Fletch. 

I got my first priesthood blessing though while on the mission and I just want to express my testimony that priesthood (power of God ) is restored and is real and true. I am so grateful for the worthy men who hold it and honor their duty to God. I being someone who has the priesthood in my life and wanting to always support those who hold it and help serve them so they can serve others as they have served me. I know this Church is true and know Heavenly Father has reached out to me continually in my life because of the restored Gospel that I live. Because of my firm testimony I wish to share this with all. That’s why I am out here. To share the most greatest thing that has brought joy into my life. I have seen it change lives and bring the brightest light into their lives. Thank you for everyone’s support and love while i am out here and know i love and miss you!

This week has been great I am so glad for all that has happened. We had a great meeting Friday with our zone talking about love and having a fiery testimony of the Book of Mormon. I feel my testimony growing more and more as I read and hear others talk about it. It's so wonderful! 

Saturday was interesting. We first went to the church to create some handouts for dinner messages to get members pumped to do missionary work. Then we parked the car on a street called Echo Hallow and walked the rest to our appointment. Our appointment was there so we continued to leave the car and walk to our apartment for dinner. Got some bread sticks at a crazy expensive pizza place. We wanted to get pizza so we went to see the prices and it was way over our missionary budget. We didn't want to just walk out so we just order some bread sticks and made our own pasta back home. After we walked back to the car to go see some random people in our teaching pool, since we didn't have anything set, on our way we run into this man who we met our first week here and haven't heard from him since. He is homeless so we had limited ways of getting ahold of him. We found him again and if was a miracle! When we first met him he was very against god and having us try to prove there is one. He was just in a very bad state. When we saw him that day he was a changed man. Got some nice clothes, a big smile, and thanking God. He said he has seen many blessings and is on a journey. We talked about church and he was asking where it's at. We said "well it's not far from here how about we walk with you there?" He was excited and agreed. On the way he bought us some water and we made our journey to the church. Being new to the area we didn't realize it was a good 2 miles to get there. Which is fine just longer than we thought. The whole time though he talked to us about his life growing up here. Showed us his old house. Just this sweet old man in his 60's who is happy. It was a pleasant walk there. When we got there we showed him the doors to the chapel and explained church more. He said he would like to come. He got excited and after we said a prayer and he offered to say it. Now this is a man when we met him at first was against god and now he is saying a prayer with us that was just wonderful and peaceful! Amazing! We walked back together and continued to talk about families and also the blessings he is grateful for. For the fact that we took the whole time to listen to him and keep him company. When he gets lonely he hangs out with drunk guys and he hates it. He was so glad we took time with him and showed him the church. He is such a wonderful and humble homeless man. He has been prepared in so many ways. Our feet were in a lot of pain after but so worth it. I would do that every day if it were to bring miracles like that. I love the homeless. At least most of them. The ones here are so nice, humble, and ready! 

Sadly he didn't come to church but we pray we will see him tomorrow and get to teach him more.

This week has been amazing! Lots of things happening. Lots of great
lessons taught. So amazing investigators and less actives are
progressing. Last week we talked to a lot of people and this week we
have been seeing many. In our district meeting we had a blast! We
talked a lot about elders and sisters working together and making it
unified and professional. Also in district meeting talked about being
sincere with those we teach and love them as the Savior loves us. A
comment was made by an elder that I really liked. It was about baring
testimony. Sometimes out here when we are teaching about the word of
wisdom or law of chastity, we tend to try to relate to those who
struggle with it and may either elaborate with our testimonies or
sound like cookie cutters. We talked about how we must share our
testimonies sincerely and make it simple. This elder said the word of
wisdom isn't something he has struggled with but, he shared his goal
to pray and study about the commandments and see the blessings from
keeping it. Dig deep and see what happiness it has brought by keeping
them. See what it may have done to others who do struggle with it and
write down the feelings he has and how his testimony has grown and how
someone can benefit from knowing his testimony. I decided to make that
a goal to. Study and pray about each commandment and find out my true
testimony on each. By doing so, we can share our true and simple
testimonies with others and not have to make it fancy as we try to
relate to them. I love this concept and know all can benefit from
trying it for themselves.  On Saturday it was our service day and we
reached out to others who needed help or upliftment. We helped this
lady move from 10-3 with the elders and a ward member. It was so fun.
We were on our way to go unload at her new house and that was crazy!
We got lost on the way and it took 30 minutes when it should have been
15. We will probably have to go on a car fast to save miles because it
ate up a lot. The elders were very helpful helping us though get
there. One elder has one eye but is super cool, and another is from
Idaho and has the greatest accent. I felt so bad because I was
panicking due to not having any idea where to go. The elders were so
nice though with helping me. I was really struggling to get there
probably yelling at the phone at them didn't help, but thank
goodness they understood and helped still willingly. We made cookies that
day to give to people we are teaching and gave the elders the extras
as a thank you.
Sunday was great too because we had a lady who is really progressing
come to all 3 Hours of church and she is so awesome! We just love her
and continue to keep the faith she will want to work towards being
baptized.
Working with sister Weinheimer is so fun! We have so many crazy
adventures and a blast together. She is an amazing teacher and
missionary too. She has a great love for this area and great ideas on
how we can work with others better and do the work effectively. I feel
I need to step up a bit as a trainer to make sure I am doing all I am
suppose to and setting a good example. Overall the week has been
awesome and I am loving the mission field. I am growing so much and
having a blast here in Eugene.
