Klamath Falls, OR January 26, 2015 Deer In The Headlights- Lots of new pics

January 26, 2015
14 weeks and still counting down!
This week has been crazy and super weird! Probably the most weird
because we had no idea why it was so strange. We had lots of crazy
spiritual experience and we had lots of near death experiences. Just
kidding,  mom would have a heart attack but we did have close calls to
danger haha!

Supper CooOOL experience. Retirement  homes are so cool!
Today was amazing. First we went to the retirement home to visit some
ladies. A man who was LDS came up to us and said hi and we talked for
a moment. He informed us all the LDS women who lived there and said
they would sure love a visit from the sister missionaries. So we
decided that it would be good with the extra time we have to go visit
some of these ladies. Only one would let us in at the moment. She was
this very elderly women. Very skinny and fragile. It was hard for her
to hear and talk but we have a very powerful experience with her. It
sounds crazy but we felt this lady was very close to death but she was
so happy and laughing so much for the little things she would say or
what we would do. She is losing her memory so she would repeat things
but she is amazing and we just felt the spirit s strong in her room as
we visited with her. When we left we both talked about how powerful
that visit was but we didn’t understand why because it was a very
simple visit we had with her. As I pondered it I felt that as we were
with her we were not the only ones in the room with her. She spoke of
many people in her life and we both felt that she had angels with her
at all times. We could feel it and it was very real to us. Crazy right
but not so crazy when you actually experience it. Then we had a lesson
with this family who was on date for baptism but had to go out of town
and everything blew up after that. We finally got to have a lesson and
it was so powerful. The mom had some concerns and was starting to back
out on us but wanted her kids to be baptized. I was a little upset
then because she knows the truth I knew it and we just needed the
right words for her to recognize it. Now I have no idea how
missionaries do it but we do it with the spirit. Right then when the
moment came I just was filled with the power of the spirit and said
words that I don’t even remember but it was powerful and really caught
her eye. When we are filled with the spirit and recognize that what we
are saying is no longer us but the spirit speaking you know that
things just got a little more real. She was so comforted by the end of
the lesson and agreed to keep going and not worry but to just keep
trying and seeing what happens. It was a true miracle when we left. So
this was for sure the spiritual part of my week!

Miracle that I am still in Oregon
It’s been a rough day today. Satan really got to me. I had a dream
about back home and my past life and it really made my heart ache so
bad I wanted to give up.
I cried for an hour and finally confronted my companion about it since
it was too hard for me to bare alone. We talked about why we were out
on a mission. She reminded me that it's not worth giving up all the
experiences I have had thus far and then giving it all up because it
was too much. She also said that I still have a work to do out here. I
need someone who is in Oregon and someone needs me too. Why would I
give up now if such a great reward is just up ahead.
I then thought of Sarah's comments of why should we give up if giving
up for the Savior wasn't even a option. Why does that give me the
right to stop doing His work. How would I feel if during the atonement
Christ said it's too much I don't love you enough to keep going.
That's what we are saying by giving up on the great work of His. I
love my savior too much to give up. And I want to show my love and
appreciation for all he has done for me.

Deer was not in the head lights!
The other day we were driving back from the church to an appointment.
We were on the highway at the time. And just FYI here in k-falls there
is deer everywhere!
So as we drove all of a sudden on a busy road a deer sprints across
the road and I barely hit the stupid deer butt! It scared me so bad
and the car in the other land was a minivan so whose knows if there
were kids in the car and they were so close to hitting it too!
The spiritual part of it was that right after we knew God was watching
over us so we gave a prayer of gratitude. It really was a true
miracle.
Then the funny part of it was that as we kept driving we thought how
super strange it was that
1. The deer went across a super busy highway which sister stover is
more of an expert on deer being from Utah and said it was so unusual it
went across the road.
2. The deer literally sprinted across which usually they just walk
across. Or Gallup!
3. The deer didn't stop when it saw lights it just booked it across
Like there is no tomorrow.
4. The deer is dumb but that's not strange because they all are pretty
dumb when it comes to crossing roads!

Oh and we recently found out that we are working with someone who is
on some pretty hard core drugs BUT we are determined to help this kid
and it's been kinda sketch but it's been amazing how in tune he is
with the spirit even though he is doing it. So hopefully he will be
able to find the strength to change and turn his life around!

So overall the week has been crazy, all over the place, lots of people
cancel which is life as a missionary. Not many people want to take
time to visit. But thank goodness the elderly like us! It’s been full
of the spirit helping us through these rough times. A mission is hard
but like dad said. It’s the hard things that define us not the easy
things. So I guess this means that I got to do the hard stuff which is
pretty much what i am doing now so I am doing something right!
And to top it off we are still safe here in k falls!

Oh and here is my talk to add. I spoke in church yesterday and it was
a super powerful meeting. The trick to get our peeps to come to church
is tell them you are speaking. We had a lot of people who don’t come,
come to church to hear me and another elder speak and it was so
awesome! I must say it was one of my favorite sacrament meetings on my
mission for how strong the spirit was in the room. So many people
replied that it was a good Sunday to come because what was said was
exactly directed towards them!
Anyways I love you all so much and hope you have a great week!
Love you!
Love sista fletch

Funny:
So we got to watch the Ducks game, as many may know already, and I must express a slight MAJOR disappointment that occurred in all of Oregon or at least our Oregon Eugene mission. We went over to our YSA activity to watch the game on the big screen. I must say it made life so much better as a missionary watching TV. As we watched the game Sis Stover and I might have caused a few injuries towards some of the peeps in the room, due to us getting a little toooooo intense in the game. BUT there was no blood and we all walked out alive. I feel the cool part about watching the game was that I felt like "A real boy" as Pinocchio would say. It was weird at first but like I said, we got a little into it probably more than we should and it was awesome to wear a name tag watching TV and not being disobedient. We got to see the new trailer for Avengers and I about almost hit the roof because I jumped so high of amazement and excitement. It comes out a few days before I come home so guess what this girl will see when she gets off the plane into the hot Arizona Sun! Any who, Then on to the fact that Sister Fletcher locked us out again for the 3rd time. If you don’t remember the worst part about it is that you just have to go back a few months and you shall see how it is the 3rd time I have made this mistake. The spare is right by the door but on the stinkin INSIDE! Dumb,  I know. I might as well have Dumbo ears so someone can yell at me and I would maybe actually hear how much of an idiot I am for doing it again. This time there wasn’t any windows open so spider man couldn’t save us so we had to sleep at this member’s house. Now I am not complaining because it was a super nice house with comfy beds and lots of food. So we were happy after all. We lived happily ever after that night. Then the manager of the place helped us out and we got in the next morning and now we are back in missionary mode. Well this sucks I am almost out of time....
UM real quick.
Spiritual: Had a baptism. Super spiritual experience. Picture a MMA fighter who is bald and super deep voice crying as he baptizes his kids. I must say that is a picture you will never forget. Such a tender and sweet moment. I love that family and it was awesome to see their kids finally be baptized.
Miracle... Had fish a few times last week and didn’t barf. the end.
LOVE YOU AND HAVE An AWESOME WEEK! :)

Love hearing her voice.

My emails will now be more funny, spiritual, and awesome!
Funny:
So we are doing insanity DVD work outs in the morning so we can become
sexy by the end of our mission. We got about 4 months to reach our hot
body's for summer. Insanity is insane. My first day I wanted to throw
up and every day since we have been sore but with Sunday and Monday
giving us a brake we are all good. Sister Stover though one day at
lunch with the sisters said I look funny doing the moves in insanity
because I got no rhythm so I get off beat and look weird. So at lunch
she tried to teach me some dance moves. Let's just say I look like
Derell from the first singles ward movie at their singles dance. It
didn't go over well. We gotta huge laugh over it and this for sure is
a witness that I will probably be a weird person when I come home.

Spiritual: I have been reading in the New Testament in my studies. I
just finished the Book of Mormon at the end of last year and now I
want to try to finish the New Testament. I finished the gospel
according to John and that was great. I loved most how John gives the
vision of Christ crucifixion. I really feel he does the best and
writing that part of the life of Jesus Christ. Another goal I have is
to read the Book of Mormon in 100 days. My 100 days left of my mission
is coming up so I want to start there. It's cool because all I need to
do is read 5 pages a day and since as a missionary we have studies for
an hour and lunch breaks I can totally archive it. So I am excited.
Another spiritual experience I had was with Sister Stover. She
recently lost a family member last week on Tuesday on our way back
from MLC in Eugene. In the car is when she got the call and it was
such a hard thing to see my companion in so much pain. As I comforted
her along with others sisters helping as well. Sister Stover asked if
we can say a prayer. She asked if I would offer it and right then I
was overcome with the spirit and with peace. I was shocked she asked
me but I felt honored to offer it. All I remember from that moment was
that every word came from a loving Heavenly Father. The spirit was so
strong I can't describe the feelings we all had after we said amen.
All I do know though was I felt Angels around us and I truly felt the
presence of Sister Stover’s family member who had just past. These are
the kind of experiences that I can never doubt happened and will build
my testimony continually throughout my whole life.

Miracle:
So we went up to MLC to Eugene and we talked a lot about the spirit
and really trusting the spirit and following promptings. Well the next
day we went walking and I of course for some reason make up excuses
sometimes not to start a conversion with someone. My excuse this time
was there is a man right by him so I won't bother him. But sister
Stover is of course the BOM and talks to him. So I was like oh wait
great she did it haha! Do we talked to this man and he asked if we had
any church activities tonight he needs something positive to do. We
sadly we totally booked for the night so we asked for his info so we
can set up a time to meet up.
Well after we left him we felt so strong we should cancel one of our
appointments to meet with him. So we called him and told him we could
meet him at the church and share a message with him. We got a member
who is a recent convert who is the BOM  too and we met with him at the
church. The lesson was incredible. We gave him a church tour and
shared with him about how the gospel can bless his life and through
what we can share he can find greater peace in this life. He was
amazed and said he had never felt the spirit so strong in a church
building. He said he felt at home. And that it all seemed familiar. We
left him a Book of Mormon to read and he was in shock that we gave it
to him for free. He was so happy.
We have met with him a few times now and he is on fire and just is a
solid investigator who just soaks everything in. He came to church and
loved it and felt this is where he needs to be. He even had a member
invite him over for dinner. The members were amazing to just be
friends with him. And then this morning when we played backsetball at
5:30 with the elders, Michael walked all the way to the church
building. It took him over an hour to walk there but he wanted to play
basketball with all the missionaries and he loved it. And after
Michael was the one to ask if we could close with a prayer. He is a
better disciple of Christ in some ways than we are haha. Michael was
our miracle and still is! It's amazing how if you pray for something
to occur or pray for success you will be granted it by your faith and
works. I had the faith but lacked a little bit of the works but my
companion helped me out and made up for it and miracles happen.
Anyways hope this email is more appealing than all my other lame ones.
I am trying to give a little more spice and salt it up a bit with more
juicy experiences. Hope I was successful. I love you all tons! Keep
on Rollin! See ya in 16 weeks!

Klamath Falls, OR January 5, 2015 Work of Salvation and Basketball Divas

January 5, 2015

New Year's Eve we got to sleep in because we had to be in our
apartment by 6:30 so that was a huge awesome miracle. As missionaries
we are always tired so when we get to at least go to bed a little
early it makes a small difference :) on New Year’s we got to watch "How
To Train Your Dragon 2", it was awesome! My comp and I cried of course
because I am such a wimp when it comes movies. Haha but we all loved
it. Then after we got to have a huge nerf war in the gym and it was
pretty legit! Super awesome and intense with everyone.
The work has been going pretty well. We are working still on this one
family to get baptized but sadly she kinda fell of the face of the
earth. Her phone is disconnected and isn't home yet from vacation so
we hope to get in contact with her soon. We have another baptism
coming up for this 10 year girl and her brother who is 8 we are way
excited for them. Their direct mom wouldn't let them for the longest
time and but after some fast and prayer she softener her heart and is
letting them. It will be great.
Sister Stover and I love being together. We have been really working
together on teamwork and loving each other more and more. She is
seriously a rock and so awesome. She is one of my companions who has
truly made a impact on me and my mission. She just is so real and
always there and a great listener. She has a strong, strong testimony
and super amazing with the spirit. I just love being with her so much
and I know without doubt she and I are supposed to be companions.
This morning was super fun! We got together with the elders at 5:30 in
the morning to play some basketball. Sister Stover and I really got
intense. We can't block the elders so her and I block each other. And
there were some parts where we are going at it I felt like Sarah when
she was in her games. It was a huge blast. And boy it was the greatest
work out!
So even though it's getting harder towards the end I am still going
strong and having fun and finding teaching and baptizing the world!
It's great! I love you all so much have a great week and live life to
its fullest! :)

Klamath Fall, OR December 29, 2014 CRAZY ADVENTURES IN KLAMATH!

December 29, 2014
We chose to walk today and we walked to our dinner appointment!
And on our way there we stopped to say hi to this man outside his house.
He was really nice and we got to talk to him about who we are. He
shared with us his life story and how he is scared and is in a dark
place. We shared with him a video “Because of Him” and he almost fell
down to the floor because he was crying so much. We gave him some
pamphlets and asked if he would meet with the elders. He was a little
sketch and he didn't live in our area so it worked out. My companion
though was awesome and really related to him and he was so touched by
what we were sharing with him. He was a little weird at times but it
was so amazing to see the light he had in him after we shared a piece
of the gospel with him. We kept telling him that everything is going to
be okay and that he can recover and that God does love him. He cried
so much and it made me want to cry because he was so sad and just the
fact that we gave him hope just made a huge impact on him.
So it was such a miracle we ran into him and we knew we walked for a
reason that day so we could talk to him.

Another adventure!

So today we tried to contact a less active that is 17 years old. We
haven't met her yet so we go by to introduce ourselves and her brother
Zalin came around back to see who was at the door. We said hi and
asked for his sister. He explained how she wasn't home. We said we are
the missionaries and just wanted to come meet her. He started this
small talk thing and asked us questions about church. He thinks we are
nuns so we explain we are not and what we do. By the way this guy is
19. He does this weird thing where he is co reign his mouth because he
is self-conscious about his teeth... We think he was hiding the fact
that he was drunk. But he goes on trying to get us to go around back
to talk to him because talking by his front door isn't his style....
So we went ahead to talk to him on the side of his house. We try to
keep the topic on religion and randomly this kid asks us how many ex
boyfriends we had... CREEP! Right!  We went ahead and answered the
question.  Then he asks how tall we think he is... We go along with it
and try asking religious question. He then starts talking and we
discussed what true happiness is. He for sure had some crazy ideas
what made him happy. He is a typically guy and likes drugs, girls and
Internet. Not good stuff... So we explain what makes us happy and help
him see there is much more than what the world offers. He keeps
laughing as we talk and thinks we need to loosen up and such. He then
starts to put his arm around both of us and escorts us out to the
front but then says before you leave I am curious about this happiness
thing... We didn't buy it due to the way he kept Googly eyeing us...
So weird. He then asks if we have heard of him. He puts his leg on a
chair. He is wearing shorts may I add and he said he was famous and if
we heard of him. We said no. He then kept saying how he feels gross
because he hasn't plucked his eyes brows and isn't the best looking
right now. We made no comment... He said he is doing a horrible job at
this first impression. In our minds we are like "you lost us 45
minutes ago bud" this guy was just such a pervert! He got really close
to me after I made a comment about something and seemed like he was
about to kiss me which I was like take one more step bud and my fist
will pound your face! Haha we said a prayer before we left. We really
knew I had to go. This was a bad situation and he was really getting
disturbing! He tried to hold our hands and we avoided it by showing
him how we fold out arms to prayer to be reverent. Thank goodness he
went along. Sister Stover when we got in to car said I sounded kinda
mean as I tried to share some parts of the gospel and I probably did
because I strongly dislike when guys act so stupid like that and the
whole time he kept trying to show off his body and impress us with
absurd things. With guys that act like that it makes me want to
punch them haha but that would be against the white hand book. So of
course I refrained. But we said we would come back to see his sister
and if he is around he is more than welcome to join in on the visit.
This guy seriously needs some help and direction with religion.
But as Sister Stover and I walked away we look back and laugh at how
someone tried to hook up with us and truly failed for many reasons
haha but also we look and see how much he could benefit from the
gospel and what amazing changes it could do in his life. We pray that
our next visit to that house he will behave himself and have respect
and be more appropriate and be open to at least learning a little
more. So we shall see. :) but this is another adventure on the
mission!

Love you guys so much
So glad you guys are having fun in Mexico I loved your pictures and it
was awesome to see how much fun you guys are having!
A bunch of elders and my companion said Mark looks Jim Carrie in them
and that one of the pictures Matt looks like a kidnapper haha it was
funny!
Hope you are safe and keep having fun love you!
Also I loved what you sent me! THank you so much! :)
