September 1, 2014 Santa Clara - Eugene OR

September 1, 2014

We had a rough week with numbers due to having lots of illnesses and having to take it easy then having it be Labor Day weekend and no one wanting to see us.
But it was the most random week ever.
Shall we begin this adventure..
Monday we had a visa waiter with us because she was gonna leave the next day and needed a companion so we hung out Monday together. But then we got word that the mission changed their mind on her living arrangements and said we weren't supposed to have her. The joke was that we kidnapped a sister. We gave her back to the mission and then went back to our normal prep day.
Tuesday we had the opportunity to have a new missionary come out to her first lesson with us her first night.
What they do now with new missionaries is they come in Wednesday and hear speeches most of the day and then at night they go out with a companionship and be a part of their first lesson with them. Then they go back that night and stay the night at the mission home then Thursday they meet their trainers and start in their new area.
So that night we had sister Slade who is so fun. We went to an investigators house with the bishop’s wife as our member to join. So there was 4 of us but we informed Rona (her made up name for now) there would be so she wasn't overwhelmed. Rona is way cool. We taught the gospel of Jesus Christ but it was all going by the spirit. We talked about baptism a lot and the new sister said some amazing things that were perfect for Rona and the member was solid too. All of a sudden I got this huge impression to invite Rona to be baptized. We thought about it but wasn't sure when the time would be and the spirit yelled NOW!! So as I was filled with the spirit we asked her to be baptized and she said YES!
She is very nervous and has a hard time feeling worthy but she said she would prepare and knows it’s something she has to do. We were so glad the new missionary got to experience that and she loved spending that night with us. It was a blast and a miracle!
Saturday we did a lot of service for members and people we teach.
We washed a ladies very dirty dog for her.
We made bread with a member who needed company.
We just had a blast seeing people and serving others.
Sunday was awesome because the RS thought it was combined but it wasn't so they asked us to wing up a lesson. We did and it was so amazing. We talked about missionary work and Preach My Gospel. It was going in the direction of Q and A for members and us. We got so close and answered a lot of important questions. It helps when missionaries are on the same page as members and we are unified together in the work of the Lord. Best day ever. So our week was random but a blast!
Lots of adventures and it was all by the spirit of where we went.
PS. so we went to target today to get socks for sister W and there was a labor day sale. Well we saw a few things. I found a super cute skirt and some simple shirts to go with but I thought no way do I have money to pay for this. MOM AND DAD WOULD KILL ME. But around the corner a member from another ward saw us and we talked for a moment. She said she had a coupon we could use to pay for our outfits. I was like really??!! I pretty much got a whole outfit that I would also wear off the mission that would have been 50$ and with the members kindness coupon it was only 35$. So I know its crazy I got more clothes please forgive me for being a  shopper girl/sister missionary haha
Any ways. Long email got to go. LOVE YOU TONS AND MISS YOU!!
